During our first year of marriage having a budget was not a priority. Every month we payed our bills, and whatever was left over we spent. By the end of the month we had no idea where our money went. One day we decided to calculate how much interest we would pay on our student loans if we stayed on the 10 year plan. The interest came out to over $15,000, seriously!? We knew at the point we needed to kick it in to gear and seriously start paying off this debt.
Thankfully we stumbled upon Dave Ramsey, and are now on our way of becoming debt free. Our journey has been hard, but fun at the same time. One of my favorite activities is sitting down every 2 weeks, and working on our budget. I pray that we can be an example to others, and hopefully one day be able to GIVE, GIVE, GIVE!
