28 Weeks

I'm officially in the third trimester of this pregnancy!  I'm still feeling great, and have officially gained 15 pounds. I haven't been eating very healthy (this baby loves butterfingers & Coke Icees), but I continue to exercise. I've had to stop my Zumba classes due to the bouncing, but I'm enjoying my morning walks and weekly Body pump class.  I'll dedicate a post later to working out while pregnant, because I believe it is extremely important. I'm hoping it will make my labor go much smoother.

Alex's boss got this for us at the Apple Headquarters in Cupertino.  Alex is a bit obsessed w/his Apple products.

Maternity Inspiration

I've scheduled a maternity photo session for September 8th when I'll be 34 weeks pregnant, and I'm currently in the process of trying to prepare my outfits.  Planning my engagement photo outfits was stressful enough. Now I have to guesstimate how big my belly will be in 6 weeks. I found the non-maternity dress below in a cute shop in Fredericksburg, but couldn't bring myself to spend $125 on it. I think it would be perfect for an outside, natural styled photo shoot, but I'm not sure how often I would wear it after.

Here's some inspiration I have for my session.

I would love to do an intimate session inside a simple white room, but unfortunately I don't have it in my budget to do two shoots, and not enough time in Dallas. Anyone need to add some maternity portraits to their portfolio ; ) ?

Summer Wedding

This past weekend I was lucky enough to attend one of my oldest friend's weddings at the Kendall Planation in Boerne.  The venue was absolutely beautiful and the bride looked stunning. It was so great getting to catch up with high school friends that I've known since I was a baby. That's what I truly love about small towns.  We have so many hilarious memories together, and I can still remember them like they were yesterday.

Alex and I didn't get back to Austin till about 1 am, and I seriously felt like a bus had run over me the next morning (no alcohol involved). Really? Am I getting that old? Sunday, we ate brunch at my favorite Austin cafe  (pancakes, oatmeal, hash browns w/ketchup...yes, I love breakfast food), watched breaking bad ALL afternoon, and ended the night watching Batman at the Alamo Drafthouse. All in all a relaxing weekend. How was yours?

Aggies sure know how to party!

Big weekend plans? The only thing we have planned is a wedding on Saturday 2 hours south. Thankfully Alex has a DD for 9 months (only 3 left to go).

Dressing Rooms

I'm sorry if these self portraits get old. I don't have a full length mirror in my apartment or a husband that wants to take pics of me all the time ; ). So, this is the best I can do, dressing room photography.

26 Weeks

Less than 100 days till I'm officially a Mama. Last night at my birthing class, we had to act out different birthing positions....a bit akward, but still fun.  I know I'm going to enjoy the ability to get up and move around at the birthing center. Pilates ball, couch, bathroom, bed, hot tub, chair, floor...I'm liking my options : )

One symptom kicked in this week, and it felt like my chest/throat was on fire. Yes, it is heartburn or acid reflux....not sure the difference, but it stinks.  I'm hoping to combat it with eating healthier, and continuing to exercise.

Exploring Austin

This weekend Alex and I had absolutely no plans, which was nice but felt weird. Trying to have a lazy weekend really doesn't work for me. I always feel like there is something I need to be doing.  Saturday we headed to Baby Earth, and finally made the decision to buy cloth diapers. Geez, they are expensive, but I'm hoping the investment is worth it in the long run. The rest of the day we explored Burnet Rd in Austin...Upper Crust Bakery, numerous furniture stores, the Exotic Pet store (Wow...scariest place ever, and free entertainment for sure), and a few thrift stores.  That night we tried out a new bowling alley w/my bro and sis-in-law, Highland Lanes, and afterwards ventured in to the stinkiest adult arcade ever, Pinballz Arcade.

Sunday, we attended Austin Stone, which will most likely be the church we join. I'm excited to finally find a church to call home in Austin. We lounged most of the day watching Netflix, and saw the light of day to head to the movie theatre to see Bernie, which was hilarious.

I'm trying to enjoy lazy weekends, where it's just Alex and I, but honestly it's hard. I know I will regret this one day.

Bought this glider on Craigslist - $80

"King of the Castle". Alex's wishes he could have this chair in our living room.

Gotta love stretchy skirts

Mr. T

I can't talk about the wee baby in my stomach on this blog anymore with referring to him by his name, so Turner it is. Turner was the name Alex and I had agreed upon for our future baby long before we ever found out I was pregnant. Turner is my maiden name, so of course it has a special place in my heart. My sister tried to steal the name, but thankfully she had 4 girls ; ) We were hoping we would have a boy, because deciding on a girl name felt impossible. It's a big responsibility naming a child, I mean seriously. I've heard some pretty rough names.  I hope my little guy loves his name as much as I do.

Smile

This past weekend Alex and I took a short trip to my hometown. I really needed some relaxation, and to see my nieces.   They bring me such joy, and help me to remember what life is really about. Ella, the youngest, is growing so fast, and I hate missing out. She loves taking pictures and videos on my phone, so we had a short photo shoot on Saturday. I just love that when I say, "Make a funny face!", and her little personality comes out.  Her faces are much cuter than mine, that's for sure.

Katie is pretty cute as well : )

On the way back to Austin, we just HAD to stop at the Apple Store since Alex's work discount finally came through.  He couldn't wait any longer to get his precious iPad, which he has been begging to buy since the day the original iPad was released.  He is now a happy man, and his attention span will soon begin to deteriorate...yay for me. (Please hear the sarcasm in my voice)

Comfy Weekend

The high waisted belt is a pregnant girl's best friend.  I'm still at a stage where people are scared to ask if I'm pregnant or not, so the belt helps accentuate the belly.  I wore this outfit pretty much 3 days in a row last weekend, and it was amazing. Dresses seem to be my outfit of choice these days, which gets me out of the jean funk I've been in.

Here's to a great weekend!

24 Weeks

Alex and I went to our first breastfeeding class on Saturday, and are starting our 4 week birthing class tonight. Oh goodness, sometimes I feel like we're kids in a grown up class room. The breastfeeding video was way too graphic, and I'm pretty sure Alex thought he would have enjoyed it more than he did..haha. There was no enjoyment to be had.

I feel a bit behind on learning about what's actually going to happen that day, and the days to follow so I probably should start reading up. Any book recommendations ladies?

Tiny leather slip-on cowboy boots. He's going to sport these with knee socks and a onesie!

This sums up how I feel at my birthing classes.
