Snapshots

It's hard to find the time to snap photos of my outfits everyday since I work out right after work. An hour at the gym pretty much leaves me hot and sweaty with some added disgusting hair. Therefore no outfit photos.  My clothing selection has definitely thinned out, but it's still fun figuring out new ways to wear my clothes every morning.

DFW Weekend

This past weekend Alex and I took a short trip to Dallas to see Coldplay in concert.  We got to hang out with my cousin Daniel and his wife Clayre, who is due with a little girl in 3 weeks!

Hiding our bumps. You can't even tell Clayre is about to pop!

We were also able to meet up with my parents and Alex's entire family in Fort Worth for lunch at Joe T. Garcias (over rated) on Saturday.  We stumbled upon the Fort Worth Stockyards, and I loved it. Especially the western shops filled with AMAZING boots. I'd honestly rather spend $800 on a pair of hand made boots than a piece of jewelry. It would be much harder for me to lose the boots (I tend to misplace expensive items).

LOVE this pillow!

Only $1,300!

Back to the Coldplay concert. I went in trying not to get my hopes up, because 3 years ago their Viva La Vida tour was absolutely amazing. I mean...awe worthy, breath taking. I have dreamt about that concert ever since we went. Unfortunately, our seats weren't very great this time. The gigantic speakers not only blocked our view of the band's faces, but also the big screens : ( . It was still a great concert in the nose bleed section, but Alex swore that for the next concert we are going to drop some serious cash for amazing seats.

All in all it was a great weekend. I was able to visit a ton of family and see my favorite band.    Sunday, we drove back early so my sister, the baby making pro, could help me work on my registry at Babie's R Us.  She walked through the store saying, "You'll need that. Scan it." I'm very thankful for her help. I get way too overwhelmed with baby stuff.

Got her blue jeans on

It's Friday, and I'm going casual.  This may not be the most high fashion outfit out there..ok, it's definitely not, but it's comfy and that's all I want at the end of a long week.  I find myself wearing these jeans (5 yrs. old) quite a bit with my cowboy boots (8 yrs. old). These two pieces together are pretty much the comfiest combo. I'm a jean girl, even in the summer.

Yesterday, I decided to wear my new pair of maternity jeans. BIG MISTAKE! I thought I would buy one nice pair of jeans that would last me through multiple pregnancies, and I decided on these Mavi jeans from a Pea in the Pod that were on sale. They were extremely uncomfortable, and I felt like my pants were falling off all day.  The elastic came down so far I had to constantly pull on my tank top so the elastic wouldn't show. I am kicking myself for tearing the price tag off, because now I'm stuck with a pair of jeans I will never wear again.

On a brighter note, Alex and I are heading to Dallas tonight for the Coldplay concert tomorrow! Ahh...I'm beyond excited!

22 Weeks

Well, I'm actually 23 weeks pregnant, but I'm a bit behind on posting the photos.  Right now little Coulter is moving and grooving, and I'm loving it. He kicks me at work, and I am reminded that life is so much bigger than the issue I might be facing that day.  My nieces were able to feel him kick this past weekend, and it was such a special moment because they loved it, and giggled constantly. Especially my 4 year old niece, Katie. She thought it was gross at first, but after she felt him kick a few times she constantly reminded me that if he kicked to tell her so she could come feel.  She also reminded me not to eat too many donuts one morning, because he might get too full. I can't wait for him to be surrounded by his girly cousins. I know they are going to go crazy for him, and make him play dress up every time he visits...poor guy.

To New & Old

I was lucky enough to celebrate Father's Day with Alex, as well as my good ole' Dad, Buck, and the rest of my family.  I gave my Dad a 2 lb. bag of Twizzlers (Thank you Sam's), and a Dobro music book. Alex's gift hasn't come in yet (yes, I'm a procrastinator), but I'll share it with you when it arrives.  Dads are more important than people give them credit for, and sadly today they are losing their role as the leaders in the family.  God created men and women VERY differently, and it was for a purpose. Men should step up to the role, and women should let them. If I had to think of the most important lesson my Dad taught me, it would be, "Always trust your instinct." Over my life this has served me well in so many ways, and I hope to pass it on to my future children.

Here's to a future father, and the many adventures he will have with his son.  All Alex can talk about is at what age can our son use a power tool to help him build a tree house. I'm in for it, aren't I?

Nursery Inspiration

Before I knew if we were having a boy or girl, I wanted to go with a neutral vintage feel for the nursery. Now, that we're having a boy I'm going to have to cool it on the vintage florals, but I'm still sticking with a vintage look. My inspirations are a mustard yellow and white lampshade I bought a few months back at Target, and some vintage horses that were passed down in my family.  For colors, I've decided to stick with grey, mustard yellow, and incorporate a bit of tiffany blue or mint green (not sure yet).  Everything else will be very simple and white. White curtains, white furniture, and white walls. I love color, so I'm trying hard not to go color crazy. Here are a few Pinterest pics I'm using for inspiration as well.

Snapshot

Quick snapshot of my outfit today. No maternity clothes here, but I know the rubber band wrapped around my belt loop is screaming, "Help me!" I'm not sure how feel about buying a belly band, so I'm about to give in and buy some nice maternity jeans. Any suggestions pregnant ladies?

Exploring Austin

This past weekend Alex and I were finally in Austin! Our best buds, The Greenwoods, came in town and our goal was to make them fall in love with the city (We are trying to convince them to move here!).  We celebrated Sierra's birthday by surprising her with a trip to Hamilton Pool, which was absolutely gorgeous, and the water felt amazing.  Afterwards, we headed to South Congress where we enjoyed some food trailers, and I was finally able to try out the Crepes Mille trailer.  Most people can't understand how I can eat a Nutella and strawberry crepe for lunch, but it's possible people and I loved it.  I worked an event on 6th that afternoon for work, and later that night we hung out on West 6th and even took a peak at East 6th just to see all of the bikers in town for the ROT Rally.  Way too loud for us.
You know your an old couple, when all 4 of us were ready to call it quits by 11pm.  I'm very thankful for our friendship, and no matter where we live one day I hope we can continue to have some awesome vacations together!

On the hunt

Last night after work I set out on a mission to find non-maternity clothes that would fit my growing belly. It's getting harder and harder to get dressed every morning, but it's a fun challenge.  I was set on finding a couple of maxi skirts with super stretchy waist bands, that way I could buy a small and wear them post pregnancy. Well...the shopping gods were not with me, because I found absolutely nothing. What the heck? Where did all the giant spandex skirts and dresses go that were so popular last year. I wore this H&M skirt below to work, and immediately regretted it when I sat down in my car. Note to self, "Do not wear non-elastic skirts. They will cut off your circulation, and you will have to walk around with your skirt halfway unzipped all day."

It's a.....

BOY!

We are thrilled! Not that we wouldn't have loved a girl, but we were rooting for a little guy. We didn't have a gender reveal party, but instead decided to find out right then! We would have been able to see his face with a 3-D Image that day, but unfortunately he was curled up in a ball the entire time.  At one point he even had his hand between his legs so we couldn't tell if it was a girl or boy...already being difficult.  I can only imagine the personality that he is going to have coming from parents that are a little crazy.

First outfit...I will be saving much $ w/a boy.

20 Weeks

I'm halfway there!  I feel like it's been quite a while since Alex and I found out we were having a baby, but I have a feeling these next few months are going to fly by.  We have something planned almost every weekend this summer, which is exhausting and fun at the same time.  I guess we should get it all in, before our lives change just a bit ; )

We found out what we are having last week. Can you guess what it will be? My sister has 4 girls, and Alex is one of 3 boys in his family...hmmm? I'm enjoying the belly as it comes in, and haven't experienced any symptoms or problems yet. Although, my Zumba classes are becoming a bit more difficult. Stay tuned later this week. I will be announcing what we're having!
